Now that I grabbed your attention I would like to welcome you to my first official blog post on my very own grown up website. If you don’t know “Bridgerton”, climb out from wherever you have been hiding and binge watch. Immediately.
This is the first weekend of 2021 and it would not be unique to express my extreme gratitude for 2020 to be gone. But let’s be honest, the effect of COVID-19 is still here. Masks, hand sanitizer, outside or virtual gatherings…the list of how things have changed could go on forever.
We need to carry the weight a little longer but, we have hope for a better spring, summer and beyond. We are vaccinating health care workers and we know more and more each day how to live in this alternate universe.
So as we keep working through some dark winter months, take care of yourselves.
Be mindful of the stress you carry and make sure you try to release the valve as often as you can. In my family, we have discovered the power of a fire pit. We have used it as a means to visit with close friends, neighbors and family. And the fires have been a LIFESAVER. Maintaining a connection to others helps to reduces stress I have seen many outdoor dinners, hikes and driveway holiday dinners to offer some connection with family and friends. As I joked before Netflix and Disney Plus have also been a lifesaver (I no longer monitor screen time for anyone)!
If you are feeling stressed and a fire pit and TV doesn’t do it for you consider:
- Meditation and Yoga
- Maintain and exercise program
- Writing in a Journal
- Maintain a Routine
- Get lots of sleep
- Nourish your body with whole foods
- Join a Book Club
- See a therapist
- Take a walk with friends (this has helped me a lot with my hiking friends Jen and Sarah).
I wish you much happiness, connection health in the coming year. Keep your eyes on my IG account, I will post when I have new posts available.
Thanks for the visit. I hope to see you soon and we can chat by the fire!
